History

Originating from a group of soccer tragic adults and teenagers kicking a ball around on weeknights the club formed after the development of an indoor 5-a-side mixed social competition in the old Kent Road Primary School shed.

The club was formally established in 2001. The soccer club originally had no home ground and matches were played on the Monivae College oval using portable soccer goals that were erected and dismantled for each home match. Later the club was provided access to the Hamilton and Alexandra Junior College soccer pitch which was our home ground for many years. Training at the time occurred at Mitchell Park on Saturday mornings for Juniors and weeknights for the Seniors.

A thriving 7-aside social competition was developed and played under lights at Mitchell Park, building on the origins of the club. Originally an all age and mixed competition, the Wednesday night competition is now a high school age competition that includes teams from Hamilton and Alexandra College, Monivae College, Baimbridge College and Good Shepherd College.

In the early years, Hamilton Soccer Club fielded teams under the "Hamilton Rovers" name in the Western Border Soccer Association playing against teams in Mount Gambier, Narracoorte, Millicent and Portland. The club built it's membership and entered a first and second grade team, junior teams and also had a womens team.

After a change in committee, membership and reduced ability to field all teams required in the Western Border Soccer Association, the club withdrew from that competition and joined the developing Warrnambool and District Soccer League and played as the "Hamilton Raiders". The senior team won the grand final in 2013 and also had success with it's junior teams in the competition.

The club eventually became a founding member club of the South West Victorian Football Association that continues today.

In August 2014, the new soccer pitch at Pedrina Park was opened following the generous support of Geoff Handbury, the Victorian Government and Southern Grampians Shire for it's construction.
